ACL Post Surgery – Phase 2

OVERVIEW

Phase 2 exercises can start from 2 weeks post-surgery

A progressive strength program comprising of 3 stages.

The patient can progress from Stage 1 after 1-2 weeks and then onto Stage 3 after a further 2 weeks, or when they have been cleared by their physiotherapist.

  • Minimize swelling and pain
  • Achieve full active functional range of motion
  • Limit post-operative atrophy
  • Strength training increased with the aim of increasing muscular endurance
  • Introduce neuromuscular training
  • Introduce cycling program
