ACL Post Surgery – Phase 2
OVERVIEW
Phase 2 exercises can start from 2 weeks post-surgery
A progressive strength program comprising of 3 stages.
The patient can progress from Stage 1 after 1-2 weeks and then onto Stage 3 after a further 2 weeks, or when they have been cleared by their physiotherapist.
- Minimize swelling and pain
- Achieve full active functional range of motion
- Limit post-operative atrophy
- Strength training increased with the aim of increasing muscular endurance
- Introduce neuromuscular training
- Introduce cycling program
