ACL Pre Surgery
OVERVIEW
To start while you wait for surgery, you can progress as your function allows
Pre-surgery phase is a progressive strength program comprising of 3 stages. The patient can progress from stage 1 to 2 after 2 weeks and then to stage 3 after a further 2 weeks, or when they have been cleared by their physiotherapist.
- Limit swelling and pain
- Patient education
- Restore range of motion, focused on extension
- Restore muscle activation and limit pre-operation atrophy
